There is no better way to learn about the different versions of Portal 2 than by playing them. Here is a list of all the versions available and where they can be found. Portal 2 (PC) The first release of Portal 2 was released on April 19, 2011. This version will be free to download and was rated as the best PC game of 2011 by IGN. The hardest single player mode is "Hardcore", which can be unlocked after you beat the game once. If you're looking for a different experience, there is also a mod called Source Multiplayer which lets players travel back through time and experience what it would have been like if they had met earlier in the story. Portal 2: Demo (PC) The demo has all of the features that are found in the full game while only lasting about an hour long. Portal Stories: VR (PC) The VR version of Portal Stories was released on February 14, 2017 for $15.00 USD.
